The Reader by Traci Chee (Sea of Ink and Gold #1) Cover Reveal

Earlier today, the cover for Traci Chee’s The Reader was revealed today & I would love to share it with you.

Summary: Sefia knows what it means to survive. After her father is brutally murdered, she flees into the wilderness with her aunt Nin, who teaches her to hunt, track, and steal. But when Nin is kidnapped, leaving Sefia completely alone, none of her survival skills can help her discover where Nin’s been taken, or if she’s even alive. The only clue to both her aunt’s disappearance and her father’s murder is the odd rectangular object her father left behind, an object she comes to realize is a book—a marvelous item unheard of in her otherwise illiterate society. With the help of this book, and the aid of a mysterious stranger with dark secrets of his own, Sefia sets out to rescue her aunt and find out what really happened the day her father was killed—and punish the people responsible.

With overlapping stories of swashbuckling pirates and merciless assassins,The Reader is a brilliantly told adventure from an extraordinary new talent.

I am loving the covers for these 2016 releases!

& I love this cover too ❤

The colors and font in my opinion go with the title and summary really well!

Can’t wait for this book 🙂 It will be released September 13, 2016!

The Last Star (The 5th Wave #3) Cover Reveal

The 5th Wave, a YA Sci-fi trilogy, centers around Cassie Sullivan, a teen searching for her brother and protecting herself when an alien invasion strikes.

This is one of my favorite YA-Sci-Fi trilogies. I am happy to share with you today the cover for the 3rd book of The 5th Wave.

The cover for Book 3:

I am so happy with how this cover turned out!

I’m glad all the covers match!  I also noticed at least with the last two, there is a shape of an animal. I wonder what the one for book 3 symbolizes?

The Last Star will be released May 24, 2016!

Renée Ahdieh’s The Rose and The Dagger Cover Reveal

Renée Ahdieh, blew me away with The Wrath and The Dawn. Her writing style was elegant, the characters were complex and the overall plot was fascinating. This tale is basically a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights, which follows a similar format but is given new life with Renee’s writing. If you have not read it, you definitely should! It really transports you to another world.

Now for the moment you have been waiting for…

Here is the cover for The Rose and The Dagger!

These cover’s are so beautiful! The design is very unique and not one I see on YA book covers these days!

I love how this cover follows the similar format to The Wrath and The Dawn

The Rose and The Dagger will be released May 3, 2016!

More info about the cover can be found on a Bustle Article Here!

Top 10 Books on my Fall TBR

Top 10 Tuesday Banner

This Book Blog list idea “Top 10 Tuesday”  was created by The Broke and the Bookish

Today’s topic is top 10 books for my Fall TBR.

  1. Carry on 1Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I am a huge Rainbow Rowell fan and having Simon & Baz from Fangirl have their very own book sounds amazing! I cannot wait to see how this book turns out!

Ice like Fire 102. Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes #2) by Sara Raasch

I read the first book Snow Like Ashes, back in Oct. of 2014! I thought the concept of seasons as kingdoms was very unique and I really loved the main character! I cannot wait to see how the trilogy continues.

Rose Society 93. The Rose Society (The Young Elites #2) by Marie Lu

Similar to Rainbow Rowell, I have read all of Marie Lu’s other books and can’t wait to see after the ending of The Young Elites, what happens in book 2!

Patrick ness 44. The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

The concept of this book sounds fascinating! I have read 2 other books by Patrick Ness, which include The Monster Calls and More Than This. I really enjoy his writing style and the unique stories he comes up with!

Dreamstrider 25. Dreamstrider by Lindsay Smith

Similar to The Rest of Us Just Live Here, this book has a unique plot and I cannot wait to see how the author executes this idea.

A Madness so discreet 56. A Madness so Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

Of course, similar to most of the books listed above, I have read Mindy’s other books (Not a Drop to Drink Dualogy) and really loved it. I loved Mindy’s writing style and cannot wait to see it in a YA Historical Fiction.

Blue VOyage 87. Blue Voyage by Diana Renn

This is a YA Espionage novel, and I really love YA novels from this genre. Such as Ally Carter’s Heist Society, Gallagher Girl’s, and Embassy Row Series! So, when I read this book’s synopsis, I knew it would be something I would like. Not only that, but it takes place in the Middle East, which sounds fascinating to me!

Oct 208. Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

The concept of this book sounds very interesting. It is also a YA Sci-Fi which I honestly don’t read much of, but I will give this book a try.

six-crows-leigh-bardugo-cover9. Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (Six of Crows #1)

I read the Grisha Trilogy earlier this year and liked it. While I was a little underwhelmed, especially when it came to world building, I am happy the Leigh is returning to the Grisha world and expanding on it with a new cast of characters.

Spinning Starlight 710. Spinning Starlight by R.C. Lewis

R.C. Lewis released Stitching Snow last year, and it was a Snow White retelling. Though it may sound similar to the Lunar Chronicles, believe me it is a completely different story. The sequel will be a retelling of The Wild Swans fairytale and will take place in another world not related to Stitching Snow.

The 5th Wave Newest Trailer

Trailer Thoughts: After seeing this trailer, I love this one a lot more than the first. What I did not like as much about trailer 1, now that I think about it, was the “cliche” voice over. I have seen it way to much in YA book to movie trailers, but this one kept it at a minimum. I also liked this trailer more because we got to see more of the many characters in the book. Though I already know how the Wave’s work, the more in depth explanation of what they specifically do, seemed to be more helpful for the people who do not know about this trilogy. Overall I really loved this trailer and felt it better portrayed the story and emotion that reading the book captured for me.

***UPDATE: After looking up the trailers, this one specifically is the US trailer & the previous one was the International Trailer***

The 5th Wave will be in US cinemas January 15, 2016

An Ember In The Ashes Book 2 Title Reveal

Back in April, An Ember in The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir was released. I really loved that book, it definitely made it into my favorites of 2015! Today the title for book 2 was announced!

And the title…..

Torch against night

With a title like An Ember in The Ashes, I didn’t think book 2’s title would compare! But the title for book 2 is fantastic and really matches with Book 1’s title.

What do you think of the title?

A Torch Against the Night will be released April 28, 2016!

Can’t wait!! 🙂

5th Wave Movie Poster reveal

Today the 5th Wave movie’s Official Poster was released!

After getting the first trailer and now the poster, I am even more excited to see this movie!

I really like how this poster looks. The dull colors really set the tone for this film. The hints of gold for the sunlight and title really stand out. The picture of Cassie (Chloe Grace Moretz) and Sammy (Zackary Arthur) w/ Bear,  symbolizes what this movie is at its core. The quote also captures the tone as well.

Protect Your Own.

5th Wave Trailer Thoughts

The first 5th Wave trailer has finally been released!

It was released earlier today, I have the trailer below!

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

Publisher–G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers

Released May 7, 2013

imageSummary: After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

I really liked this trailer. It got to the point of the story and showed just enough, but didn’t really spoil much. I think Chloe Grace Moretz will be amazing as Cassie Sullivan by the look of this first trailer. With the other actors/actresses they have chosen for the other roles, they are spot-on to how I imagined them when reading the book. Having read this book back in 2013, I forgot some of what happened in the book, but from this trailer and what I do remember from the book, it looks like its going to be a very faithful adaptation.

What do you think of the trailer?

If you have read The 5th Wave what are your thoughts?

& If you haven’t read The 5th Wave, does this trailer encourage you to pick up the book or see the movie?

I for one am very excited for this movie.

The 5th Wave releases in the US, on January 15, 2016
