Summary: Lang Leav presents a completely new collection of poetry with a celestial theme in The Universe of Us.

Planets, stars, and constellations feature prominently in this beautiful, original poetry collection from Lang Leav.  Inspired by the wonders of the universe, the best-selling poetess writes about love and loss, hope and hurt, being lost and found.  Lang’s poetry encompasses the breadth of emotions we all experience and evokes universal feelings with her skillfully crafted words.

My Rating: ★★★★☆ ½

My Thoughts: Another delightful book of poetry from Lang Leav!

Having read Love & Misadventure from her earlier this year, I was eager to read her latest book & I was not disappointed!

While themes remain the same from her previous work, she effortlessly weaves together such gorgeous celestial imagery.

I’ve always adored quotes involving stars + the universe and reading these poems reminded me how they can be used to paint such a moving picture of love and loss with each and every word.

I tabbed many of the poems b/c they were just written so beautifully! I can definitely see myself re-reading these poems again & again in the future!

My only issue was that some poems don’t have a celestial/space theme which is what I expecting for all of them.

Regardless, they were all written beautifully, really capture such emotions and tell a story with each and every line.

Lovely and captivating imagery of the stars and universe help to tell tales of love and loss in Leav’s latest novel.
Highly recommend! Its a rather quick and overall enjoyable read. ❤

Overall Thoughts: A great addition to the Red Queen Series! Out of both of the novellas featured in this novel, my favorite is by far Queen Song. Steel Scars was good, but I felt it was lacking. However, from Steel Scars I really loved the friendship Farley & Shade developed! This definitely has me excited for Glass Sword.

Overall Thoughts: A wonderful sequel! Ally continues to keep readers guessing till the very end! The plot further develops in this book and the ending has me excited for book 3!(**Additional note to review**) However, I do wish in further books, the characters would be more developed! They are interesting to read about, but I feel that the characters are only known on the surface level and should be further developed as the series continues!

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

My Thoughts: I don’t usually read much poetry, but I decided to give this book a try. I am so glad I did!

These poems were all written so beautifully. Though most of the poems are quite short, she weaves words that evoke so much emotion with just a few lines.

They all show their own story of love and loss, but really transport you while reading.

Though it is a quick read it is also a memorable one ❤

I will definitely be picking up another one of her books!
